Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Research Fellow (Trauma Sciences) within the Centre for Neuroscience and Trauma in the Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London. The Blizard Institute is the largest institute of Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry and aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service. The post is within the Trauma Sciences research team, which is housed within the Blizard Institute. The post-holder will also spend a significant amount of time working with the pre-hospital team and clinical trauma team at the Royal London Hospital.

The main purposes of this role are to: support recruitment for the Trauma Sciences clinical trials; work as part of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, scientists, nurses and support staff, delivering a programme of research relating to traumatic injury, haemostatic resuscitation and optimising patient outcomes; and contribute to the overall scientific endeavour of Trauma Sciences by taking responsibility for project areas, as demand requires.

Essential requirements include: a UK-registerable basic medical qualification; MBBS, MRCS or equivalent; medical training to SpR level; and experience of managing patients with severe injury.

The post is part time (0.8 FTE) starting in January 2019 for two years (in the first instance). Starting salary will be in the Clinical Lecturer range £31,931 to £44,307 per annum plus London Allowance or. Benefits include 30 days annual leave (pro-rata), pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
