Do you have experience of conducting Experimental Psychology research and an interest to develop your knowledge, skills and professional profile?
The School of Psychology is seeking to hire a Research Assistant with experience in conducting Experimental Psychology research on the topic of social interaction, preferably with some experience using eye-tracking or ERP methodologies. The job will involve collecting data for a series of studies under the European Research Council grant “Tracking the cognitive basis of social communication across the life-span”, under the direction of Prof Ferguson.
The research topic itself focuses on the concepts of Theory of Mind/perspective-taking (ToM), executive functions (EF), and its impact on communication across the life-span, thus some knowledge of these topics is highly desirable.
You will be required to assist with conducting the proposed research, and some basic data processing and statistical analysis. You will also be responsible for scheduling participants from our existing database, which will include individuals between the ages of 10 and 80+ years old.
The successful candidate will co-ordinate with postdoctoral research associates and PhD students on this project and other related projects and therefore good interpersonal skills and experience working with others in a research laboratory, are important.
