This is a full-time post, fixed-term for three years, available from 1st October 2022.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly-skilled and productive Research Associate for a Health Care and Research Wales (HCRW) funded post. The position is for 3 years. The successful applicant will be working on a project assessing the feasibility of a novel motor activity (drumming) training app for people with Huntington’s disease (HD). 

The project will explore the effects of 3 months of drumming training on cognitive and motor symptoms in people with HD as well as underpinning brain plasticity mechanisms using state-of-the art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). 

Successful applicants will have a Ph.D. in cognitive/clinical/imaging neuroscience, experimental psychology, or related field. The post-holder will need to be experienced in cognitive assessment and MRI data acquisition and analysis. Experience with intervention studies in clinical populations and clinical trial design would be of benefit. Furthermore, the post-holder will need to have excellent time management, project management, and oral/written communication skills.

A primary interest in the neuroscience of Huntington’s disease is desirable.
