This is the webpage for the Keele BNA Local Group, including BNA members from Keele University, local healthcare institutions and industry, and the surrounding area.
Within Keele University, the Keele Neuroscience and Neurology Group is composed of academics and clinicians that research a diverse range of neuro-related topics, including neuroprotection, neurodevelopment, neurodegeneration, cell signalling, inflammation, tissue engineering, biomaterials, neuroplasticity, cognition, traumatic injury, rehabilitation, neuropsychology, cognitive psychology and neurosurgery. Through our national and international collaborations with academics, clinicians, communities and industry, we conduct our research in two major strands (1) pre-clinical models and patient populations to better understand how the central nervous system works and importantly, how it can be repaired and (2) developmental cognitive science work which aims to understand how the developing brain adapts to the multisensory world outside of the womb and how perinatal disease and injury affects the emergence and maturation of brain networks and behaviour.
