Neurology & Molecular Neuroscience Research
Neurology & Molecular Neuroscience Research at Swansea is led by Professor Mark Rees & Dr Seo-Kyung Chung and has been built over the last 10 years to focus on important research issues in neurology and related disorders. Based on the third floor of the ILS-1 building, the group also hosts and coordinates the Wales Epilepsy Research Network (WERN), including 4 main research development themes and a 55-project portfolio across Wales HEI’s and NHS Healthboards.
The Neurology & Molecular Neuroscience Research team is partitioned into 3 themes (Clinical, Biomedical, Bioinformatics) in the pursuit of the genetic, neurobiological, pathophysiological and clinical stratification of epilepsy, migraine, learning disabilities, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, transient loss of consciousness (TLOC) syndromes and neuronal migration disorders.
